Hey! I'm Eric Rosenn A Journey Through Science, Service, and Self-Discovery

My Journey to Computational Biology

Embarking on the journey toward a Master's in Computational Biology, my path has been anything but linear. Just a year ago, my understanding of "OS" was nonexistent, and my aging laptop's primary function was a portal to online chess. My academic and professional journey has meandered through various fields and institutions, each pivot driven not by indecision but by an unyielding passion for scientific discovery and a desire to utilize my knowledge for global betterment.

From envisioning a future in medicine under the influence of my father, a pediatric neurologist with a relentless pursuit of knowledge, to exploring the complexities of human cognition and philosophical literature, my early years were defined by an insatiable curiosity. This journey took me from academic enrichment programs in science to theological exploration in Israel, where I honed my public speaking skills and engaged in rigorous physical and mental training as part of the IDF.

Returning to academia with a renewed focus, my foray into microbiology research and leadership roles in community service further solidified my commitment to the scientific field. My decision to pivot towards Computational Biology was influenced by a recognition of the immense potential at the intersection of data science and biochemistry. Now, as I embark on this next phase of my academic journey, I am driven by the prospect of unlocking new discoveries that contribute to our understanding of the world and improving human health.

My diverse experiences, from military service to community leadership and scientific research, have equipped me with a unique perspective and a resilient determination. As I pursue my Master's in Computational Biology, I am excited about the opportunity to leverage my background in biochemistry and my newfound passion for computational methods to make a meaningful impact in the world of science.
